both bulbs in my hood blew at the same time, when i took a look there is a small flash burn mark on the control panel to the light switcth side, would changing the light sockets solve the problem or is it the control board that needs replacing, regards.

If there is signs of burning on the control board it is likely it will need to be replaced.
