The liquidiser on my Bosch MCM 5081GB/02 does not work when all the safety catches are locked down.

That (the button which the attachment should depress to activate the drive) is not pushed down. I know that there isn't a fault with the mechanism activation as when pushed down with a screwdriver, the motor drive to the liquidiser engages. Looking at the bottom of the liquidiser I noticed that there is a stepped notch and it would appear that this is the problem as the trigger cannot be sufficiently depressed. I just wonder if a small piece of plastic has snapped off.The photograph identifies this notch. Hopefully you will be able to explain.
