Enquiry on Karcher A1000 filters

I have a second hand Karcher A1000 vacuum cleaner and would like to enquire the following: What is the difference between the foam filter and cartridge filter for Karcher A1000? Which one is needed for wet vacuum conditions?

    Chris at eSpares says...

The cartridge filter will have a paper element and deteriorate if any moisture comes into contact. The foam filter is less effective on fine particulates but more robust and washable. We think your instructions may advise not to use a filter during 'wet use'
