Any tips on how to disconnect a spade connector which is stuck to the old heating element?

I have tried to gently tug and pull off the space connector from the old element, I got one of them off with no problem, but the other one is stuck! I can giggle it about a little, but it will not come off, what should be a 10 minute job has turned into 2 hours and still no joy!! I'm trying not to pull too hard as I don't want to damage any wiring, any tips on how I can get around this problem?

Some connectors have a small 'clip' or 'barb' that prevents the connector from being removed. Carefully examine the removed connector to identify this clip and make sure it is pressed to allow the other connector to be removed.
