my washer is only spinning and emptying when i disconnect wast pipe from U bend is this due to faulty pump ? waste away has no blockages. spigot either.
my thinking is the take away pipe has to go up and over a cupboard wall to hook up to the spigot under the sink and after many years the pump has not got the power to push it up and over leaving me only option to pull pipe from spigot and let it run downwards straight out of my back door into yard drain with whatever little help the pump has got left ????

Lift the hose into a loop above the height of the machine. If it will then empty into a bucket quickly there is no problem with the machine. If emptying slowly check for blockages. If no blockages suspect the pump.
