Does the door split easily apart to fit the handle

I've established I need this part to replace a broken combined handle/latch and have easily removed the door. I see that the door is essentially made of two halves what appear to be pressed / snapped together (I also see that these can also be bought individually). With some careful prising and fiddling will the two halves of the door come apart or is there a 'trade secret' to do this - Advice welcomed

  • Yes the door does snap together/apart, there is a notch to start you off with and its realatively simple. Once split fitting the handle is straightforward. By Anonymous - - 07 April 2010
  • The two halves will prise apart but get somebody else to hold them while you put the handle in place. This means you won't have to take it apart completely. By jakester - cornwall - 15 March 2010
