Burning plastic smell (friction type) Bosch washing machine

Hi, Our Bosch Maxx Kids washing machine (some 15 years old) has just started to produce a smell similar to friction burnt plastic during a wash with bathroom towels. I have suspected worn bearings recently as machine noisier than usual (replaced brushes a month ago) but the smell has just started. Be very grateful for your thoughts. Lloyd

With a heavy load like large towels the drum can flex and contact the door seal on spin causing this problem. Check if there is 'play' between drum lip and seal as this would confirm worn bearings. Clean any rubber 'pick up' from around the drum lip with a plastic scourer pad.
