I took the element out, removed all the limescale then insert it back but no joy.

It started to work then the electricity cuts off in the whole house. Tried another plug, changed the plug fuse but still cuts off electricity? What could be the problem?

Check that the wires are not touching or shorting to the heater. It may be a faulty element see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1794/how-to-diagnose-a-faulty-washing-machine-heater and http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1793/how-to-diagnose-washing-machine-control-and-program-problems
