Hi my Hotpoint dryer trips the electric as soon as i press start, would ineed to replace the heater element and the thermostat to solve this problem or could it be another issue?

    If your dryer is a condenser unplug it and remove the large fan cover and heater assembly from the back. If there is signs of damage to the heater. If there is a trace of water (less than a teaspoonful is enough) when you remove the cover then this would blow on to the element and cause the house earth trip to cut out. Dry out and make sure the pump is lifting the water up to the container. Start on 'cool down' and allow to dry before retrying on 'dry' after a few minutes.
