When the cooker mains switch is on the fan comes on automatically but does not switch off at all until the mains switch is turned off. Could this be a fault with the fans motor? If so does the universal fan and motor fit the Hotpoint SY36X

- More likely a fault on the oven temperature switch. Fan comes on correctly as soon as the switch comes away from the off position. Sounds like a faulty contact that doesn't open when the switch goes to off. It's a separate set of contacts that controls the element via the thermostat.
