Mychain does not tension. Does this adjuster resolve this or has the chain stretched so that it needs replacement.

Answer this Question (1 Answer)

  • This is a replacement adjuster, so if yours is broken you will not be able to tension your chain and you need to buy a new adjuster. However, if your adjuster still looks like the one in the picture and the lug is still located in the hole on the bar, and you cannot tighten it any more, it sounds to me as if the chain has stretched beyond the point of adjustment and you need a new chain. The only other thing I can think of is that the thread in the adjuster has stripped, so just buy a new one, it is easy to fit. By Ian - Hampshire - 03 September 2012
