with this type of filter do you need a chalkcoal filter

my cooker hood is fitted with two metal grease filter but it don't seem to have a chalkcoal filter fitted. Do I need one if so what type.

    It is only necessary to have a charcoal filter if the air is being recirculated into the room and you want to reduce the cooking odours. If the air is vented out the charcoal filter should be removed to help air flow.
