The thermostats on my hotpoint tumble dryer have either a white for or orange dot.the orange 1 shows voltage continuity when button pressed.the white 1shows no continuity either way.is this why I get no heat

    Depending on model some Hotpoint group dryers also use a thermistor, This will have a resistance typically between 6000 and 20,000 ohms.
