Cause 1

Blocked Drain Pump

The drain pump is that crucial component that forces the water through the drain hose, so having a blocked pump will not only cause draining issues, but it is likely to bring the wash cycle to stall unexpectedly too.

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

  • Glassware can break during the wash - if this has happened the shards may have fallen and gathered within the pump.
  • Using a multimeter, test the terminals and if you don’t get a reading of between 100 and 300 Ohms - or a reading of zero or excessively over - then the pump has failed and you will require a new replacement pump.
