  Caution - Higher suction??? 27 December 2011

  The new part arrived just one day before I left for Xmas break, so I fitted the vacuum which was easy to install on the garden vacuum. I then proceeded to vacuum up the leaves in my garden. The performance was very good, it mulched the leaves up very finely. However the suction appears to have increased also to the point that a trajectile was picked up (stone?), which exited through the vacuum casing shooting past my right ear.The replacement blade is different from the original so the question needs answering whether it has been tested with each of the B&D garden vacuums advertised. There is no doubt that the trajectile would have injured me if it had struck me at such force.

  Does the job but could be better designed 08 November 2011

  I modified the vacuum impeller leading edges with strips of self adhesive stainless steel, thick foil. It appears to make the shredding edges at lot more efficient and last longer.

  Garden vacuum fan 15 July 2011

  Black and Decker have made the fitting so much easier on their later models. No longer does one have to dismantle the whole machine nor somehow hold the shaft whilst tightening the nut. It is now simplicity itself to remove and refit the new cutting fan. However my one criticism is that the cutting blade/fan is made of a too soft plastic. My suggestion would be to fit metal tips/edges to the blade to prolong it's life/usage. This would please customers but I guess eat into B & D profits - they are on a good earner with the present fan!

  Just what I wanted------Except? 07 April 2011

  Obviously this item was required because the exitsting one had worn out. the fan blade had become lose and during use had disintegrated around the drive shaft. Alas when the new item arrived it would have handy had the 2 washers and the nut to re-attach the fan to the shaft had been included with the re-placement item
