After sending off for this piece, I found that other pieces were also, worn out and broken, and needed a second delivery from e-spares. Eventually I needed a replacement collar, bearing, cotter pin and back plate. The back plate needed 2 old rivets drilling out and new ones fitted using a rivet gun.

There tends to be two main problems with these dryers. Problems relating to wear see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/1438/how-to-replace-the-shaft-and-bearings-on-a-tu However if it is a condenser dryer and vibrating replace the Impeller fan in the appliance (not the one at the back)

The main cause of the squeaking is a worn rear bearing (Stock Number: ES865498) but this can cause damage to the drum shaft. If this has happened or you want to replace most of the worn parts together order kit Stock Number: ES546701 and see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/1438/how-to-replace-the-shaft-and-bearings-on-a-tu
