This kit is partly OK but needs a bit more development. I've ended up glueing and clamping the flexi tube to the external vent and even with that there was not really sufficient thickness of material around the hole through the wall to satisfactorily drill, plug and screw the vent plate to the wall. Was I advised to bore a 150mm / 6inch hole/ ? Had I bored a 150mm hole then the vent plate would have had no means of attachment as it's not big enough for the fixing screws to be outside the bored hole!. This kit is OK ish as an amateur prototype but should not be on the market in its present state. Still, I'm happy to have managed to install it as the extractor does now vent smells and vapours to the outside. What is the point of them if they do not?
  • OK, but not quite

Despite this being the kit, and the source of the kit, suggested by the supplier of my new extractor hood, the size of the kit meant that fitting was a more complex process than it needed to be. The guy fitting my new kitchen explained that he could not use a standard bit to make the hole for the hose, because the size and diameter meant that a standard drill bit would be a couple of mm too small. He was able to work around this, but I would suggest that if someone was trying to fit this themselves, they might struggle.
  • It does what it says on the tin

Purchased this for Neff 2654XOGB cooker hood. The kitchen fitter had no trouble fitting it and it, and the hood, extract better than any other extractor fan I have ever used. e spares were very efficient as well so top marks all round.

  • Q My cooker hood is not vented, how can I cut down on condensation when cooking 1 Answer

We also bought this kit to cut down on condensation. Our hood is not on an external wall so I only needed certain items from the kit. As we are in a bungalow we took a (new) longer vent pipe into the roof space and then out through a soffit grille. As it's only just been fitted, it's too early to say whether it will be effective. It may be that our vent pipe is too long to work well. The main issue with the universal fitting is that it didn't fit our Neff hood particularly well and some degree of improvisation (and gaffer tape) was required. I'd suggest looking for a specific branded version if one is available but this kit should do the job if you can't find anything else.

Need to reduce from 150mm to 100mm. Also, how do we block the vertical outlet? Hood purchased without instructions or product leaflet.
