yes it should do. when an element goes it melts together and it could cause a short circuit other causes could be loose wiring on element

It is possible that the main element has been damaged and it is causing an electrical short. Sometime the circular rigns fuse together and that may cause the short.

Hi Huxley
Without actually seeing your oven, it is impossible to tell what is causing this problem. What I would advise is talking to your local cooker specialist and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you. And that's where we come in! With thousands of oven spares, we're bound to have the part for you.

This element is for the BOTTOM OVEN of a Zanussi ZHQ575. To replace, gently unclip the thermostat from the top right hand corner of the back plate, unscrew the back plate and old element, pull the spade connectors from the element taking care that the wires don't spring back into the holes. Push the connectors on to the new element and reattach the element and backplate to the cooker. Clip the thermostat back in place. Should take no more than about half an hour.

normally the top oven doesnt have a fan,the only element is for the grill.you can tell if that is working ,by turnig on and see it glowing ,therefore element would be in the bottom oven.but have you checked your thermostat! my advice is do the element first ,as these normally go first, they are very easy to fit ,and dont take much time at all. hope this helps.

This is definitely the one! You just unscrew the plate at the back and the old element, then pull the crimped wires off (this is the hardest bit - I used pliers) then reassemble.
If the lights all come on and it doesnt warm up then its definitely the element!

I had a similar issue but with just 1 screw on my front panel. It has corroded into the clip at the back and in my effort to unscrew it the cross head just rounded out.
I used a dremil to cut the head of the screw into a flat so i could use a flat blade screw driver. After a bit of wigling about the screw came out and i replaced it with a new one.
QI've changed the main fan element and fan, still not working!?1 Answer
I've changed the fan and element. The old element was open circuit, the new one had a reading of 22 ohms.
So I believe the element went and took out the 32amp breaker in the fuse board.
Is there something else that might have blown at the same time? or a reset device?
