The Karcher itself appears to be working ie motor running, but when I press the trigger nothing happens. I cannot detect anything when I press the handle, as if it is disconneted,

    The gun trigger is just a valve that opens to let water through. Try bleeding the pressure washer by disconnecting the gun and turning the water on. Reconnect when water has come through and try again.
