I have an EW62N hotpoint cooker with a faulty grill. Have changed both elements but they only get warm not glowing. Would this be a faulty energy regulator switch. If so is this a single or double regulator.

There is a ticking noise like a thermostat clicking in and out.Serial number is 70 1 00220

Hi GILLY, there's a very easy way to check if it's the energy regulator switch is damaged - remove the metallic cover and twist the spindle around all function to see if the contacts are all still working properly. This is easily visually diagnosed. If it looks ok, it's overwhelmingly likely that the thermostat will need replacing.
