How do I tighten spider arm?

The bearing on my WK44AW is obviously worn, and I will order this, but the rivets securing the spider arm to the drum are also slightly loose. In the past, I have tightened rivets on other machinery by hammering. Would you consider this to be a viable repair?

  • remove the top and the back of the tumble drier, using an electric drill and a drill bit drill out the rivets, and replace with short nut and bolts, preferably with a wide head. This worked for me quite well. By John - Cambridgeshire - 01 October 2010

You could do this but it will just be very problematic to take it apart again should the need ever arise... Do you not have a tool available to you that will work?
