  Dyson Post Filter Lid 04 November 2017

  Good quality. Bought because I slightly broke the exiting one on my Dyson. Reason for breaking it was because of the difficulty in removing it in the first place. Interestingly Dyson made no reference to a Post Filter in their instructions. It was only through looking at a video on changing filters did I become aware of this filter. More interestingly, it seems, Dyson don't want you to get this lid off either. Although it showed in the video that it was easy to do. However, when I eventually got it off, I found a hard rubber stuck behind the part you needed to press in and click the lid off. The filter was in an awful dirty state because it hadn't be changed in its 15 years since I got the machine, again because Dyson don't tell you about it. I haven't used the lid yet as I'm keeping it as a spare because the old lid seems to work ok for now.

  Well, the old girl needed a new part - she was losing air! The clip lip had snapped off the old filter lid. Her old one was purple, so she had to make do with a grey lid. Colour didn't matter, but it fits like a new corset and this old Dyson feels the benefit, but by gum she's getting too heavy for us now. But we decided to give her another chance and fit a new filter lid. Carpets and floor love her again. This new part does make a huge difference.

  These break very easy when you try and remove them to replace filter so a cheap replacement is welcomed.

  Dismantling this cover can be tricky for some who try with wrong tools and end up snapping the very thin fragile side clips. Be careful and follow the espares video.
