  Not exactly Universal 02 October 2015

  Got this to replace the seal on the top oven of my hotpoint cooker, was listed as a suitable substitute. Easy enough to fit - but the corner hooks should have been on the inside of the metal corner clips not on the outside which means that the seal is positioned not on the metal surround of the oven bit right on the edge - I expect it to melt the first time I use my grill

  Disappointed 10 April 2014

  The seal was easy to cut and fitted snugly. However, when the oven heated up, the seal expanded quite a lot, sagging noticeably in the middle along the top, providing no seal at all. When the oven cooled, it returned to its original position.

  Recut the sagging part a little shorter to allow for expansion when warm.

  This product will be good value if it fits your cooker. Although specified for my cooker it was too thick. Your existing seal needs to be about 8mmthick. Mine was 2-3 mm.

  "Universal" I don't think so 20 November 2013

  The oven seal arrived promptly but when coming to fit to my Homark oven I found that the top horizontal seal was half in the oven opening along with the top half of the two vertical side sections and therefore no good. This was because the two metal corner pieces supplied that pin the seal to the door where sharp 90 degree angles whereas the existing ones were curved and consequently held the seal just that couple of mm clear of the actual oven opening. I recommend that the existing pin clips are checked by feeling through the old rubber seal before purchasing

  Unsuitable 16 November 2011

  ALthough I checked that this was suitable for my cooker It did not fit properly. As the old seal was curved at the corners when fitting the 'universal seal' it stretched over the top from corner to coner but was below the oven opening and therefore left a large gap and did not offer a proper seal .

  NOT VERY UNIVERSAL 02 February 2010

  BOUGHT TO REPLACE A LEISURE EL OVEN DOOR SEAL. THE SEAL PROFILE WAS NOT THE SAME. THE CLIPS WER 90 DEGRRE CLIPS. WERE AS THE ORIGINAL CLIPS WERE ROUND. USED THE OLD CLIPS, HAVING FIRST CUTTING THE NEW SEAL TO INSERT THE CLIPS, GLUED INTO POSITION WITH HEAT RESISTANT SILICONE. 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE JOB. I WOOULD NOT RECOMMEND. SUGGEST BUYING AN ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT SEAL ALTHOUGH THE UNIVERSAL WAS ADVERTISED FOR THE LEISURE EL, BUT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE.

  great idea, but completely useless as the oven door wouldn't shut with the seal fitted. This could not be forseen until the seal had been cut to size, so it's just as well this isn't an expensive product.

  Universal oven seal 25 January 2009

  This item does not fit the New World 90 DGO oven. The hooks supplied place the seal too close to the oven opening and the shelves/grill pan foul on the seal.
