Rubbish Plastic Handle 09 May 2014
Sadly the fitting is quite snug and tight which does not allow for the handle to be robust enough. The handle keeps snapping and we are now using the third one. The kettle is in our holiday cottage and the kettle's usage is very low. Overall the kettle is great, however the quality of the handle of the lid is extremely inadequate for the design

Great lid 15 April 2014
Purchased lid for delongi metropolis kettle as other had broken. This lid is a much better fit than the original one as it was nearly impossible to remove original lid as it was such a tight fit. This lid comes off very easily to fill kettle. Good speedy service from supplier and cheaper than other sites Would recommend

Poor qualty 26 February 2014
I am now on my 3rd lid in as many months.The problem is the screws fall out of the inside on the handle of the lid-probably due to the heat affecting the plastic which cracks and opens.Also when first fitting the lid the clips around the rim are too tight so I had to bend them in. All credit to eSpares though they have replaced it immediately with no quibbles.The problem is either poor design or manufacture/materials - or both.

Dubious quality of cover for DeLonghi kettle 22 January 2014
Bought a cover for a DeLonghi kettle from espares in August last year. The cover failed after 5 months which was disappointing. The quality of this product was questionable. However espares replaced this product very quickly with absolutely no quibbling. Thanks espares.

Easy Solution 12 November 2013
I am now on my third lid since last October when I bought the kettle. I got my husband to bend in the little flap bits on the rim of the lid, i.e. make them flush with the rest of the rim. It works a treat! Lid can be removed a lot easier and does not put too much strain on the plastic handle.

Swift delivery and great service from espares, but as for the product. Original lid lasted about six months before the handle broke. Managed to bodge it by drilling holes through the handle and using longer screws, and this lasted another few months. Bought a replacement lid, and it lasted three days before it fell to bits. Not impressed by this design, and rather than facing the cost of a yet another replacement lid, I am now looking to replacing the whole kettle with a more robust model.

Cover is very tight fitting and can be difficult to take of but it looks good and much cheaper than buying a new kettle

WORTH SHOPPING AROUND 17 September 2013
I checked on the manufacturers web site as my ist port of call and found that they wanted a fortune to replace something that is in my opinion very flimsy in design. Espares was the ist company I looked at online and found that straight away they were charging proper prices for parts.

unfortunately it only lasted two months even though it is an improved version with two screws rather than the one in the original, the heat of the kettle causes the plastic handle to eventually give way where the screws meet the handle, looks like a new kettle is due which is a shame.
