Perfect replacement part 21 April 2023

Received this part and a little fiddly to fit but is exactly what I needed. When installing ensure you clip the plastic rod into the handle first. Then at an angle attach the handle to the bottom lug first in the door. Then with a small screw driver and slight pressure, push the top of the plastic rod down so it clips into the top lug. It will with a little force clip in.

    Fitting handle 04 February 2023

It's easier to take the freezer door off. Put the spindle in to the handle first. The unbroken edge is the edge that connects to the latch on the fridge, the other edge has 2 teeth & acts as a spring. You'll notice that on the door, by the holes that the spindle fits in to, there are 2 tiny cut outs, this is where the spindle fits in to. Push the spindle along the cut outs & it will clip in to place.

To Fit - easy when you know how 17 November 2022

    1) It's important that you work from the back and the side of the door of the freezer section 2) Fit the spindle/spring contraption in the handle first 3) The long part of the spring fits in the 2 lugs on the main part of the fridge 4) Make sure then that the long part of the spring is slightly protruding from the handle and that the 2 smaller lengths of plastic are up against the door 5) Fit the spindle/spring into main door of the freezer section lining up the 2 holes pushing upwards 6) Then turn the handle flush with the freezer door and it will click into position 7) You will note that there is a slight gradient on the door by the bottom hole to allow it to do so. So when it happens again I shall visit this site, read my instructions and hope they make sense! I hope this helps.

Easy to identify part required for make & model of fridge and received very promptly. Fitting of freezer box handle was a bit fidgety and took several attempts and a bit of patience. Good result. Thank you espares.

    There’s a knack 05 June 2021

This is my second Lec handle. To be fair, I didn’t break the first one, but I do remember the faff at replacing it. I wasn’t looking forward to having to do it again. I read the notes from other people who had done it at least 500 times before attempting it. Essentials to remember…*you don’t need to take the door off. I’ve done two and didn’t take the door off. *yes, it helps to run the parts under the hot tap. *on the spindle it’s the long side that clips to the two bits on the side of the fridge *put the spindle in the handle, before attempting to attach the handle to the evaporator door itself *once spindle is in the handle, get the top bit lined up with the holes on the door first, with the long side of the spindle sitting outside the handle vertically. From this point, it really is a mystery. I managed to do it in 3 seconds. Basically, you are attempting to ‘pull’ or maybe push the handle into place so that it clicks round the spindle at the bottom (door catch on lhs) and drops into the bottom hole on the door. This was much easier than the first time but NOT because I knew what I was doing. Sheer luck. Good luck people!

    Fitting 30 May 2018

I found the best way to fit the door handle was first to remove the evaporator door. Then remove the broken handle and the catch fitting. This can be done with a pull on the handle to remove the male part from the female part. Next fit the new handle to the original catch by inserting the handle the top of the catch then pushing the lower open part into the catch. With a little prising the handle /catch fitting can be inserting into the door housing. Refit the door.

Good replacement part 18 April 2018

This was a good quality, replacement part for our LEC fridge freezer door. It was not very easy to fit, and we doubt we could ever do it again! Perseverance is the name of the game once you have established the correct way to fit it with the spindle. It helped to find a picture on this site of a similar replacement handle with the spindle in situ. As always we received excellent service and advice prior to purchasing.

Very tricky to fix but gets there in the end. Make sure to soak handle and spindle in hot water before to make it easier to fit. Put top in first and as you push bottom in to place lift upwards slightly.
