  A good idea 12 December 2020

  I thought this would be a very good idea as I am always burning my wrists. Actually they were a bit short for my neff oven shelves and I was surprised how hot they got, although I have not burnt myself yet!

  No More Burns 09 March 2019

  Does the job. A little difficult for elderly fingers to fit. Inital 1st use smell does disappear. No more oven burns.

  Yes protected my skin from burns. Good stuff, could do with being just a few cms longer to protect across full width of shelf. 20 February 2017

  To buyers - With an oven mitt on my hand I reached in to the middle shelf and the skin on my forearm made contact with the edge of the top shelf. I am convinced it would have caused a burn if not for the shelf protector which had been fitted to the top shelf. Cool forearm Luke? lol, but there is a serious side to this! Dear e spares, just a little note: We have a standard (600mm wide) kitchen unit oven, yet I was a little disappointed to find that the lengths of protector did not go across the full width of the shelf. They are just a few cms too short - disappointed even if their lack of protection is 'only at the sides'.

  Useful but not perfect 26 August 2015

  Bought for fitting on a shelf at about eye level (top of fitted double oven) where I have burnt my wrist on several occasions. Guard was easy to fit but not as wide as the 60cm oven so had to choose - place to the right or to the left, or cut in two so both sides could be protected. Slightly fiddly to fit but not difficult unless hands have rheumatism. Haven't tried cleaning it as yet so don't know how that will be. My main disappointment, and something that should have been obvious before I bought the protector but that I didn't think about, is that the front edge of the protector is raised above the shelf. This means that a dish cannot simply be slid forward off the shelf but has to be lifter to clear the guard. Lifting something containing hot fat or liquid, at eye level, may well be more hazardous than risking the occasional small burn. So - potentially good but think about exactly where you plan to use the guard.
