Colour coded wiring as original 16 September 2020
Fitted into hood perfectly, decided to connect wires from supply side to new wires from load side. This to avoid dismantling the hood to access the supply side connection box. Worked first time, very happy as the light switch been playing up for years before going into retirement completely. Recommend product and supplier who kept me fully updated as to when the item would be available, only a couple of days to wait.

The right piece of equipment to fix the problem. The product had to be convert a little with regards to the wiring on my cooker hood. But it worked and my cooker hood switches all work now, I finally have light, thank you.

IF LIGHTS NOT WORKING CHECK THIS FIRST 18 December 2017
Bought control unit but problem was that lamp holders had overheated and burnt cables in housing so now ordering lamp harness. Orginally bought control unit easy to fit except the screws holding cover on has little space to undo bent small phillips at end to unscrew (not enough room for stubby screwdriver) SO CHECK OUT LIGHT SOCKETS BEFORE BUYING CONTROL UNIT.

No wiring instructions are provided!!! Retain the fibre spacer of the existing switch assembly and fit to the new product. Take note of the individual wiring colours of the old cable harness or remove and replace each wire separately - this is what I did. Ensure you have small cable ties to replace the ones you need to cut off during removal of the old assembly. Finally make sure you have a Philips head 'chubb' screwdriver to remove the top cover screws of the harness junction box.

espares sourced a replacement unit (from another make) for a blown light/fan switch on a 16 year old cooker hood. I was a bit sceptical it would fit but paid for it - to be then told it was out of stock - but on order. It took a couple of months - but amazingly the espares system remembered the order and the switch eventually arrived - and, after sorting out slightly different cable colours, fitted perfectly! Given the thousands of different switches there must be and the huge volume of orders espares must process I was very impressed. Thanks!!
