  This lever needs to be redesigned. 27 July 2015

  Whilst ths product is easy to fit and is a direct replacement for the original part, in my opinion it needs to be redesigned. This is the third time I have had to replace the lever on my lawnmower as it splits at the pivot point making it impossible to start the mower. Thankfully they are not too expensive to replace but the manufacturers need to give some thought to strengthening the lever at this weak point. The service from eSpares is excellent meaning the replacement part arrives quickly.

  HELP PLEASE 14 April 2015

  Hi. I am about to fit a new handle to my lawnraker. The piece of spring steel fell out when I was stripping the assembly and try as I might I can't figure out where it goes back. Can you help. I know this is a bit cheeky but loads of people on this site have done the repair.

  Essential Spare 04 March 2015

  I have just replaced the broken "positioning lever" (on /off switch lever) on my father-in-law's lawnmower as the old one had split at its pivot point inside the switch housing. An easy repair, just undo 5 screws, two to remove the housing from the mower handle and 3 to separate the two halves of the switch housing. Once this is done the lever can be removed from its pivot in the housing having first removed the safety push-button and spring from the centre of the pivot. Fit the the new lever, replace the safety button and spring and reassemble, job done. These levers are readily available from e-spares and other sources on the internet. The fact that they are so available shows that they must prone to breaking. They are vulnerable to sideways knocks being such a long lever which in this case caused the cylindrical shaped pivot to split. It is fortunate that they are so easy to replace and I was pleasantly surprised that they are relatively cheap. E-spares were very quick to deliver - within two days of placing the order - and well packed.
