Hygena switch box assembly 30 November 2014
I was not hopeful when I went on the net to find a replacement unit for our cooker head switches, - but e-spares came up with a replacement unit and with a little help with my soldering iron my wife is happy, thank you!!

The right part. Easy 03 November 2014
Had made several repairs with jumper wires but it became necessary to eventually buy a new control unit. The website is very comprehensive and it's easy to find the part and confirm suitability. The buttons were tricky to refit as the switch spindles were fractionally bigger. A quick file of the plastic sorted it. Job done in about an hour.

Item just as described! 15 August 2014
Perfect replacement for defective part - had to employ an electrician to fit it as soldering necessary, but this was done swiftly and with no problems.

saved me buying a new cooker hood 14 February 2014
Fits perfectly. If your OK with a soldering iron then no problem, but you will need three hands to replace your switch box.

The right part 22 December 2013
It took awhile to find the right part as the cooker hood is at least 17 years old and only has a product number without the manufacturer's name plate. With the help of an electrician he diagnosed the fault and I tracked down the part on the internet. The electrician fitted the part with a soldering iron and the whole procedure took about 20minutes. I'm delighted to have found the right part and have my cooker hood working again. One electrician told me I'd never find the right part and anyway it would be cheaper to buy a new hood which would have meant pulling my fitted kitchen apart and cost several hundred quid.

Good functionality but DIY competence essential 14 November 2013
This product replaced my failed switch box exactly but there are some drawbacks attributable to the original design rather than to eSpares. Unfortunately, rather than having a simple plug connector, it requires wires to be detached from the failed unit and then re-soldered onto the corresponding points on the new unit. This was reasonably straightforward but not ideal especially if this is not a skill possessed by the DIYer. The quality was as good as the original but, considering the number and low tech nature of components on the circuit board, I thought the item was very expensive.

Hood switch replacement 20 October 2013
Had not expected to be called upon to carry out soldering, but that in itself was not the problem. Holding the board whilst trying to melt solder in such a position to insert the wiring was a two man task, as the wiring length did not allow the board to reach the cooker top. Job done in a reasonable time and without further drama once the second man arrived.

Cooker Hood Switch Box Assembly 01 October 2013
I was a little sceptical having read the other reviews, but decided to go ahead anyway as all of the other items I have purchased have been fine. The item arived within two days and was well packaged (even though the postie forced it through the letter box). Yes the wires did need soldering, but this was not complicated or difficult, even for someone like me who has only soldered once before. With the soldering done and the switch assembly refitted to the cooker hood, it was time to switch on. It worked first time, with no problems, and has been working fine ever since. A simple solution that saved me hundreds of pounds.
