Replacement Bosch motors brushes 22 March 2017
The overall fit of the brushes was very good: exactly the same width, depth as the originals and sufficiently long enough for years of wear. The only problem was the size of the electrical connections which also hold the brush springs in place. The new parts were slightly smaller than the old ones so the brush housings had to be bent to ensure the brushes remained securely in place.

Check your motor first 23 December 2015
Before ordering, check whether your motor is produced by FHP by taking off the back of the machine and looking at the label/print on the motor. If it says FHP then you will need a different brush e.g. ES177838 for a Bosch machine. They come with a white plastic holder so the spring coils are not visible and are each held in by two screws not a clip. Just giving your model number is not enough as this does not tell the Espare's system which motor you have and therefore which part you need.

Motor brushes for 19year old Bosch Washing machine 10 December 2015
From retired maintenance electrician. Purchased these brushes as they were substantially cheaper than OEM parts. Have replaced before with OEM parts that lasted about 9 years with approx 10 washes per week. The hardness of the brushes must equal that of the commutator or one will wear the other away quicker. Cannot rate them for quality, only time will tell. A bit fiddly to get springs in. The last set I bought were in their own brush carriers. These are not.

worfk well once you modify them 02 December 2014
These will work... However you will need to adjust them. They were very slightly too large to move freely in motor and needed to be filed down. Also angle at end is no sharp enough for contact with armature and also needs to be filed ( compare with what you take out). Once adjusted they work fine at fraction of cost of OEM bosch

Cheap, but fit not great 02 February 2012
Purchased to fit Bosch washing machine 4066. Brush fits fine on one side of the motor, but had to trim some carbon from the side of the other brush to allow it to slide freely in the holder. Otherwise, lot cheaper than the genuine Bosch part.

Good Value for Money 29 April 2011
These compatible brushes look like good value for money, only time will tell. Easy to fit for enthusiastic DIYer. Worth looking at the video to give you extra confidence. It got the washing machine going quicker that calling and waiting for engineer. And obviously a lot, lot cheaper. My rationale was that if this did not solve the problem of the motor not working, then I would call for expert advice.

Didn't last very well 27 April 2011
I fitted a pair of these about a year ago, and they haven't lasted very well. Perhaps the graphite material is too soft. I'm going to fit some of the slightly more expensive ones now, and see if they last any better.

Cheap but limited life 13 October 2010
Bought these brushes in April 2010 and fitted quite easily into the motor. In October 2010 the brushes were completely worn out. The original BOSCH ones lasted 5 years, these lasted 6 months. However, they are a lot cheaper and I've just bought another set, hopefully they will last longer.

easy fix carbon brush 17 March 2010
the first time I fitted the item the connecting wire broke free - although a pain it was easily fixed by drilling a hole and soldering it - so low quality but reasonably cheap - the whole job is not hard but a little tricky - well worth doing

Ok but, probably should have gone for the slightly dearer option. 13 December 2017
I bought the cheapest option which fit and work well but, are obviously made of softer carbon than those that came out. I will be surprised if they last anything like as long. That said eSpares carry both versions and the choice was mine. The eSpares price for both versions was very good and much less than others were charging. However, given the pain in moving the washer to get at the motor I doubt it will be worth the few extra pounds I saved buying the cheaper ones. eSpares delivery, price and "how to" video were excellent. I will shop with them again.
