If there is a inspection panel remove it to access the lamp. We do not advise if you have to remove the cabinet as this could expose lethal high voltages.

To replace a lamp in most microwaves it is usually necessary to remove the cabinet top for access. As this may then allow you to accidently contact the high voltage side of the microwave and this could easily prove lethal we do not give any information for repairs of this nature.

To replace bulbs in most microwaves you would have to remove the cabinet, this could allow you to accidentally come into contact with the high voltage that is used to power the microwave. This could easily prove to be fatal and for this reason eSpares recommend that you do not remove the case unless you have been trained to work on microwaves.

The bulb, if it is the bulb, I see when I take off the internal cover is nothing like your illustration. It sounds daft but it appears to be pink and face away from the oven interior towards the exterior cover!

The manufacturers instruction book says 'The oven lamp must be replaced by a service technician trained by the manufacturers'. This is likely to require the removal of the case and expose the very dangerous high voltage area. As there is the real risk of death if this was accidentally touched we recommend you do not attempt this repair yourself.

Hi haswell53, getting to the bulb will depend on whether it's your oven or your microwave that the bulb is situated in! However, in either appliance it will entail removing the bulb cover. This will involve either removing screws from it, unthreading it or using a blunt object to lever it off.
