Although this product can learn commands from most remote controls please check the dimensions as it may not be suitable for users with limited vision or poor dexterity.
When the batteries need changing (or fall out, or your elderly mother decides to remove them!) does this unit remember its programming or do you have to start again? The batteries could be out for several days.

This should be able to 'learn' the programme numbers and volume functions but may not be able to operate the menu's and other functions available.
