    Dissapointed in this product

This seems like a genuine Mcculloch product, but I was very disappointed with the amount of cord, there is hardly any, and it was cord I needed, I just did not want the hassle of changing the cord, so thought I would buy a head, wish I had not done so now.

Answer this question

I need to change the threading on the top of the strimmer head to accept a left hand thread bolt on my strimmer. One of the adaptors (the black one) is a left hander and the correct diameter, but I can't work out how to switch adaptors. Thanks

By Nigelew - - 25 August 2013
  • Hello Nigelew, I hope by now you have resolved your problem. I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner. To replace the threading is very straight forward; first open the head as if to replace the cord. 2. Then remove the cord holder by pulling straight out. 3. This will reveal a black plastic cog wheel which is spring loaded. 4. Press down this cog wheel and move from side to side, this will loosen it up a bit and it should pull straight off revealing a spring on which the adapter is attached. 5. The adapter will pull off the spring fairly easily. 6. Replace with the correct adapter and replace black cog wheel ensuring it is lined up to the slots on the yellow base. 7. Replace cord holder. Job done. I hope this is of use to you. By haroldreeves - Wexford, Ireland - 12 October 2013

what do i need to change my Cbrio 246 from a bruch cutter head to a strimmer cord head

By Anonymous - - 09 January 2012
  • I think what you need is the part above Stock Number: ES971078. Mine came with all the parts included but the brush cutter is only really necessary for the thickest scrub with heavy shrubs. The strimmer cord head will take cord of various thicknesses and is colour coded. I use orange which I think is about 30mm and it is very effective. Best of luck.
