Vacuum Cleaner Brushroll Assembly

If your vacuum is suffering from a damaged brushroll, there is no need to worry, as eSpares can soon help you out. This replacement brushroll could be an ideal replacement that, once fitted, can help have your carpet looking and feeling brand new.

The function of the brushroll is to loosen dirt from carpet fibres and move it upward to where the motor can pull it into the vacuum. Over time the bristles on the brushroll can become worn and less effective - meaning less dirt pick up from your vacuum. The bristles should be firm, so if they are loose or suffer from split ends it sounds like it is time it got replaced.

Care and maintenance such as ensuring you have an effective working brushroll is important to the performance you get from your vacuum. Another reason as to why the brushroll might not be working as well as it should is that the bearings in the brushroll may be defective or may be clogged with hairs and carpet fibres.

With a new brushroll you will find that the bristles are able to loosen more dirt as you vacuum, which will result in a better cleaning performance. With the help of eSpares and this replacement Brushroll, you'll soon be filled with confidence in the performance of your vacuuming again before you know it!

The brush should lightly contact the surface and also 'beat' the carpet to help agitate dirt loose from the carpet fibres.

  • Does the brush bristles actually touch the carpet as it is spinning. By James - - 18 April 2015

  • My DC07 allergys belt can't be removed from the motor. I used a pair of long nosed pliers, to open the belt for brush removal. This really is a two handed job but easily done once figured out. By Matalow - Scotland - 09 December 2014
  • Not easy - You need to lever the belt off the old brush bar and onto the new one - I used a screw driver to do this!! By Anonymous - Scotland - 30 December 2011

I've found the video for replacing the standard DC07, but the animal looks slightly different. Do you have a video, or instructions for this?

  • some vacuums you can slip the belt off the main motor but on the click I could not get access. To change this item on the dc07 click, I had to get the drive belt off. I did this by lifting the belt off the brushroll (you can get a tool to do this). the brush roll in my case just clicked out from both ends. By kevin - birmingham - 25 April 2011
