    Fingers crossed

Fitted this 1500W switch to a 2200W strimmer, with some trepidation, but it was fairly easy to fit, and seems to be the same as the previous switch. The strimmer worked after the fitting. It turned out that the previous switch, which jammed when ON, merely needed a little lubrication, and now seems to work fine, too. I could have saved my money, and so might you, too, if you have the same problem.

    easy DIY repair

My dad's old garden vac was sticking "on". After investigation, it was apparent that the switch was sticking. Installing the new one was easy - the spring clips have to pushed down to pull out the wires from the old one, then pushed into the right holes in the new one. Worked fine afterwards. The only slight concern is both new and old switches are rated at 1500 W for the 1800 W model. I didn't check to see if the switch is also available from general electrical spares shops.

Hi mac, there are terminals on the side of the switch for the wires to fit in to.
