  • The lamp does come apart to fit new bulbs. As the other commenter has said, slide a knife or small screwdriver in the circular gap between the metal outer housing and the metal ring holding the glass. Lever it out on one side and you can then repeat it around the slot to pull out the glass lens in it's holder. The bulb is then a simple pull out and replace. Pushing the lens holder back in is a bit awkward because you have to line up cut outs but it just takes some trial and error. I'm buying the whole lamp because I couldn't work this out originally either, and tried pulling the whole lamp unit down, bending the sprung tabs holding it in place. It's never been the same since. Note to Belling if they read this: why not just put these instructions and pictures in the manual for the cooker hood and save us all this hassle?? By Alan A - Chelmsford - 14 January 2016
  • One original bulb failed after only a few months use. I replaced it with a standard inexpensive G4 12volt 20 watt halogen capsule. It has been going for the past two and a half years and gives similar light to the original bulb. I removed the glass lens by by sliding a paring knife under the metal rim and the old bulb pulled out and the new one slotted in easily. The specs of the bulb are embossed on the reflector, btw. Do NOT remove the whole light assembly, it is held in by two springs that deform so it doesn't clip back. If you do you will have to buy another light unit or dismantle part of the hood to get the thing back in and it's very fiddly to put back together. I am not an electrician, so please understand that I have described what I did and do not recommend any course of action. By GL - Isle of Skye - 18 December 2015

This assembly looks like it uses a standard bulb like Stock Number: ES676581 but we are not able to confirm if the lamp comes apart to remove this bulb.

The old assembly just needs the spring clip that fixes it to the hood to be squeezed in and allow it to pass back through the mounting hole.
