Ive tried to fit this catch to a Cannon C60GTF, but I cannot remove the side panel, does the hob top have to come off as well? 4 Answers
- We have just replaced the catch on our Cannon Carrick C60GCSI . The whole hob top does not have to come off. Take the fascia off in the manner described above and undo the screws for the back panel, on the same side as the side panel, so that the side panel can be brought slightly away from the side. Slide a rag or something similar between the side panel and the area near the catch so that you won't get your fingers crushed and replace the catch. If you search for 'take side panel off a Cannon cooker' there is a photographic step by step guide which somebody has put on the internet. It is far more helpful than Cannon.
- I fitted a new roller catch to a Cannon C60DTXF; absolutely no problem to anyone who can use a screwdriver. Definitely best to remove the hob but no need to take the whole side panel off, plenty of room to get at the catch with just the front screws removed and the side panel held open. Beware of extremely sharp panel edging, one bit of which sliced into my right digit finger!!
- I fitted the catch to a Cannon C60GPXF. You need to pull off all the knobs & buttons from the fascia. Remove two screws at the bottom and slide the fascia to the left before sliding it down and off. Remove the screws holding the hob top at the front. Remove the screws on the right holding the top of the right side panel and the three screws further down the front of the side panel. Remove the security screws holding the bumpers at the back of the hob top. You are now able to lift the hob top slightly and the right side panel will ease out far enough to undo the front screws for the Roller Catch and replace it. I removed the hob top completely by removing the screws around the burners, but I do not think that this is strictly necessary.

I can replace the prong on the body of the cooker but cannot see how to access the main catch mechanism inside the door

Before starting check if the screw holes have 'threads' and if smooth use the old screws to cut a thread into the new catch then remove them. To 'line up' the catch help slide it in position with a this stick or knitting needle and move it with a small screwdriver when aligning the screw holes.
- The catch mechanism slides out all right but how do you line up the new catch to the screw holes and hold it there having slid it into door frame ??

If the catch is in the door frame take the door off and remove the 'door frame caps ' to enable the lock to slide out once unscrewed.
Hi How do I get the side panel off or what ever needs removed off to fit the door roller catch.
- Did you find out how? I have this cooker too and there are no visible screws to remove the side panel on this model - it is completely different from the Belling one in the video!! Haven’t a clue how to get side panel off, but if it means taking control panel or hob off then I’m outta here, gonna get me a new cooker! Third time this has broken & not paying £130 for someone to fix again

We have a Cannon C50GCWF gas cooker with the door catch in the door not body of cooker, but door has glass inner too. Not sure which screws we need to undo in door to get at roller catch. 1 Answer
Happy to have a go at this ourselves once we have advice.

You will need to normally get the door off if you can't split the door when the outer door has been removed it will allow access to the catch.
