The orange part protrudes through the the plastic front of the dishwasher into the handle bay - but where is the lever or mechanism that operates this latch? That's the part I need! 3 Answers
From the front of the dishwasher, if you look up into the compartment where you put your hand to open the door, there is only this fragile orange plastic 'stick' that can be seen. We seem to be missing a piece that actually operates this latch shown to open the door - what part is that?

- When all else failed, I read the instructions! I found that this is in fact a crude child lock system explained right at the back of the manual. You can re-set it by stick a match in the tiny hole and pushing the protruding stick to the right as far as it will go or in fact, I've found you can actually re-set it by just pushing it as far right and in to the door as you can with your finger and wiggling it a bit! It then clicks and stays there. Does come out again occasionally, about once per month.

Not up to usual eSpares standard 17 December 2020
After years of satisfactory service, eSpares has on this occasion fallen short. Delivery delayed, but this I accept was due to Covid and pre Christmas period, and beyond control of eSpares who despatched on day order was placed. Unfortunately component arrived damaged. A piece of plastic spring clip had snapped off in transit. From experience I knew this is not crucial to the functioning of the latch mechanism so fitted it anyway, and dishwasher now restored to health. Would otherwise have returned seeking a replacement, but didn't want to endure further delay. Maybe a bit more care in future with packaging of delicate components. Will continue to use eSpares in future.
