At the moment I can't comment on the quality of the thermostat because it did not solve the problem with my washing machine - water gets too hot. However the washing machine still functions as it did before I replaced the thermostat so it must be at least as good as the old unit. What I can comment on is the delivery which was quick (if slightly pricey for such a small, light item) and the item arrived undamaged. I can also comment on the value which seems good for the price of the item (excluding delivery). Finally the ease of fitting was excellent - a perfect fit.

If you have just installed this machine check the water is filling and rinsing from the cold supply. If this is ok the problem is likely to be a stuck heater relay on the control board. -

Neff Washing machine W5420X0GB will fill, rinse, spin, drain, but as it starts to wash it trips the RCD. Heater has 46KOhm resistance, board unmarked, motor brushes ok. What next - thermostat appears to work but limited reading. Earths are good and unit is approx 24months old.
- RCD's detect earth leakage. So your heater element had a connection to earth. If your Heater is tripping the RCD check resistance between the earth and live, and earth and neutral. Its preferably done with an insulation resistance tester if you have one, otherwise an Ohm Meter.

The sensor was easily exchanged on the washing machine and fully functioned correctly as expected.
