I need to change this PCB but cannot see how I get to it! Can you advise how to do this.

  • Given that your question was posted several months ago, I guess you've found out by this time, but just in case... You need to ease the plastic panel that surrounds the dispenser unit away from the freezer door by inserting a flat blade screwdriver into the slots underneath the bottom of the panel and gently easing it outwards. The panel is held on by simple snap-on hooks (about 8 or 10 around the edges) and they simply pop apart as you ease the panel outward. Work your way around the edges until the whole panel is released. Behind the panel, you will find the PCB at the top, connected by a small cable and held in place by screws. Gently ease the cable connector out of the PCB, undo the screws and you're all set to put in the new board. Reconnect the cable and then replace the panel by just pressing around the edges so that the hooks snap back into place. By toughcookie - - 16 September 2011

Hi marti, the PCB is the electronic circuit board which sits behind the temperature knobs and controls the temperature.

Answer this question

The model no of my appliance is GRL206CBQA (which is not listed). The touch pad which controls temp of fridge and freezer and also ice making function has ceased working and I have switched off the appliance to see if it would reboot itself, but it hasn't. Will this PCB when installed solve the problem ?. Also, can you advise how to remove the old one and replace a new one ?. Many thanks for your assistance.
