Washing Machine Drain Pump

The drain pump in your washing machine is a key component of the washing process, as it removes the waste water from the drum of the machine at the end of the wash cycle. If you notice that the water is not being drained away, as usual, it could be due to a faulty waste pump. eSpares could help get the dirty water draining away again with this replacement.

    No noise now

Fitted the supplied Drain Pump in a few minutes, dread to think what a repair man might have charged. This new pump seems quieter than the original. Espares has triumphed again, always seem to have the parts I need.

    genuine Indesit pump

The pump arrived within 24 hours of ordering and within the 1 hour time slot texted to me from DPD. The replacement pump had identical mounting points and electrical connections so fitting was a breeze. This was not the cheapest pump that I found on the net but having had excellent delivery service previously from espares, I decided availability and delivery were more important. I lot cheaper though than calling an engineer out.

    Excellent Service.

Discovered late afternoon on a Friday that the washing machine wouldn't drain due to a faulty pump. Ease of website made finding a replacement simple. Part ordered at 7.pm on the Friday, delivered on Monday am and machine fully operational by late morning. Excellent all round service.

The drain pump may either have foreign objects in it (check the filter) or the pump is starting to fail and need replacing.

Answer this question

Hi there We recently had a problem with our machine that meant we had to open the front of thr drain pump to pull out the stuff that was blocking it. This included several shirt collar stiffeners and a 50p piece! Since trying to use the machine since then the drum will not drain. If I drain it manually (combo of jug and then just opening the drain pump casing to let the water out) it then seems to work again (tested spin etc). However, when I attempted a test wash it failed to drain again. I checked the drain pump to make sure no more blockages and all was fine - fan moving freely etc. Think that makes sense, any ideas?

Hi Carlington, it sounds as if you may well need a new drain pump, or perhaps a drain filter that screws in to the pump, as you mentioned. The filter doesn't come with this pump; you'll have to search your model number in the search bar at the top of the page to find out whether it's available.
