Couldn't find this in the shops

I bought a small oven bulb from the local DIY but it turns out I needed an even smaller one that they didn't have and no other local shop had it either. Of course eSpares stocked the right one and it was the genuine Whirlpool 15 watt bulb.

Excellent bulb for Cannon cooker- Model 10545G

Had purchased a cheaper bulb elsewhere, it was the correct spec for our cooker but blew after a few usages. Having used eSpares in the past with good results decided to get this bulb and after numerous roasts and a full day of cooking for a family get together it's still going strong, so well pleased.

    Lightbulb moment

Espares came to the rescue again. I needed a replacement bulb for my cannon fan oven, but as there are so many models, I was reluctant to choose one from espares as I couldn't undo the cap in the oven to access the bulb as a guideline. I needn't have worried. Espares site is so helpful. They sold me the right bulb at a competitive price and even gave me a tip on how to remove the glass cap to be able to replace the existing bulb, which I did with ease. Thank you espares

Is it 25W? Tips for getting the glass cover to screw off in both the grill & main oven compartments...I am finding it only moves slightly to right or left and no further.????

By Blackswans - Stirling - 27 May 2009
  • i have just replaced bulb in my cannon cooker, the glass cover turnes 180 degrees anticlock wise then pull,if very stiff could be caused by build up of dirt in thread, hope this is helpfull. By t1nker - suffolk - 11 April 2010
  • a small drop of WD40 dropped onto the start of the thread eventually loosens the cover glass-but expect a little smoke when the oven is next used unless wiped thoroughly before re-assembly By wrinkleyoap - luton - 21 November 2009
  • Hotpoint's web site says your bulb & cover are the same as the ones in my oven. Your official replacement is 15w, the eSpares bulb is the same. The cover unscrews anticlockwise so brush a little olive oil around the base (WD40 does not enhance food flavour) & work it loose. By clwyd - North Wales - 15 September 2009

Do you simply twist it off? Or push-and-twist at the same time or some other clever way, clock-wise or anti-clockwise??? Driving me mad...
