Washing Machine Poly-Vee Drive Belt - 1245J5

If the drum does not spin and rotate at the speed required, it could lead to your clothes being left damp at the end of the cycle. One of the causes of a slow rotating drum is if the belt is stretched or worn, which can happen over a period of time.

With the help of eSpares, and this replacement belt, we could soon have your washing machine back to full rotation speed, and get back the performance you have come to expect from your washing machine.

Hi, I have a hotpoint WM19 first edition white washing machine in my holiday cottage. It will work perfectly and the drum will turn when the machine is empty of clothes, or has a very small load in it - i.e 2 tshirts, 1 towel. However, when an ordinary sized load is in the machine, it will turn a couple of turns, then struggle to move any further - making a large groaning noise. The drum is trying to move. I am wondering what the problem could be - as I'd rather repair the machine than replace it - it's old but in really excellent condition.

The most likely cause of your problem is worn motor brushes as this could reduce the power to the motor and may cause it to stall.

Answer this question

My washing machine is over 20 years old, all press button, no dials and shows temperature and time to run on a screen along the top; great options like half load, fast programme and economy wash - it was ahead of its time, and I love it! Unfortunately, I'm told that its obsolete and there isn't a belt to match my model of machine. There was I thinking one size fits all - no such luck. Really hoping this Polyvee 5 Rib Belt will do the trick.

Hi Wishfulthinker, I'm sorry to say that this belt won't fit your machine! Because of the age of your washing machine parts are no longer being made for it. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help, and I wish you the best of luck in finding a suitable belt.
