We have a septic tank, what effect does this solution have on the biological action in the tank? Will it kill the microbes? 3 Answers
- Do not use this with a septic tank. It is sufficient to kill germs in the pipe and is twice the lethal quantity for the microbes in the tank., which will seriously degrade decomposition in the tank. The research from Cornell University is unambiguous http://waterquality.cce.cornell.edu/publications/CCEWQ-16-HouseholdChemicalsSeptic.pdf (See bottom of the first column to top of second column of page 3).
- I'd be very very wary of using with a septic tank. It very caustic sodium hydroxide and (like bleach) I think will kill off the bacteria working in your tank. I think it best avoided unless you want the hassle of trying to restart your system (Nb. I have septic tank in France)

I have a Cess pit, not septic tank. can I use this ?

We believe this product is specifically for a bathroom sink so would not be suitable for a Cess pit.

Easy to use. Need gloves and goggles as caustic and spits a little with the hot water.
