This unit could be used to turn a boiler on and off if left on 'constant' but you should check with a heating engineer if this is suitable for your boiler. Some fan flue boilers run the fan after the heat turns off for 30 seconds to remove heat from the heat exchange. This would stop the cooling from happening.

  • If this system works through sockets, then I don't see how it could operate a gas central heating system without turning on and off at the socket which surely would alter the timer? I was told never to turn off the heating at the socket. By A.Page - Essex - 05 December 2015

As this is controlled from a router through wifi if it was connected to that router once off you would not receive a signal to turn it back on. Therefore you would have to have two routers and networks to turn one on and off.
