The drive end of the brushbar appears worn. I cannot tell if this wear extends to the drive srocket(?) will replacement of the brushbar cure the problem?

You will need to check it to determine if it is just the brush bar or something else is causing the issue before you order it.

The problem may be the drive belt or this brush jammed or a fault with the motor head itself.
