Re Joanne Willis's 'answer': If you live in a hard water area and have not regularly changed this filter it is likely your iron is full of limescale. You can try to clean this by using a descaling product like Stock Number: ES1541155
- my morphy richards jet stream elite has gradually started to over steam and throw out bits of rubbish all over my ironing and when I put it back on the base it carrys on steaming and causing water to run every where.The model no. is 42239

You should check with your instruction book on replacement frequency but this may vary depending on water hardness. It is likely the iron is blocked by limescale and will need to be descaled using a product like Stock Number: ES1541155
- How long are these Anti-Scale cartriges supposed to last bought one from you not so long ago and lost most of its steam I have only had the Iron under a year

There may be many reasons why this problem has occurred. If this happened over a period of time slowly reducing the amount of steam it may be blocked with limescale. If it occurred 'overnight' or whilst using it the fault is more likely ti be the cable or switch from the iron to the base.
I live in Cyprus and accept that the water here is hard. The red Descale indicator light came on and I cleaned it as directed but now the light won't go out. The compressor builds with steam and blows out through the iron when it's sitting in the holding cradle but when I pick it up to start using it, the trigger on the iron doesn't work rendering it useless. I have now tried using a Descaler in the machine but it hasn't made any difference. This is now my 3rd steam generator .... I love it and can't manage without it .... I even upgraded and paid more money thinking that I would get a more reliable machine. Any ideas ?

It is important to de-scale an appliance in a hard water area regularly before it becomes blocked or it can permanently block and damage it. Try again and you may be able to flush the de-scaler through then rinse with clean water.
