Universal Fridge Freezer Door Seal - Up to 130cm x 70cm

If the door seal on your fridge freezer door has worn away or snapped, then most likely the chill will be escaping your appliance. Don't get hot under the collar about it, grab this spare part from eSpares! Here we have a compatible replacement door seal, which will ensure the cold air remains in your fridge freezer not your kitchen!

This is two L shaped moulded seals and two corner connecting pieces.

Simply cut to the length of your seal and glue the two connecting pieces to produce a suitable four sided magnetic door seal.

Specification:

  • Size up to (L) 130 x (W) 70 cm x 12 mm depth (cut to size if smaller)

Please check the dimensions of your refrigerator prior to ordering this part as it size-specific.

Important Information:

This seal is designed for older appliances that have a detachable door liner that is fixed in position by screws.

We suggest only considering using this seal if your original seal is no longer available and the seal fitted is in very poor condition

Attempting to fit on any other type of fridge or freezer may result in the appliance door leaking or being unusable.

Answer this question

Please advise on the necessary cleaning & preparation required & the type of glue needed to successfully glue the corners of the universal fridge door seals reliably. Clearly state the cleaning products which will provide a secure adhesive key for the glue and the order in which the corner seal faces are attached in order to produce a fully airtight joint. I have already attempted to use super glue without any lasting success.

We believe the best results will be obtained with a flexible product such as Evostic contact adhesive or a silicone sealant.

I have fitted the universal door seal. Unfortunately I couldn't find the video but worked out how to tuck it in behind. I haven't done any glueing yet but I have shut the door and particularly in the corners it is not sealing when the door is shut? Do you have any advice

Try warming the seal with a hair dryer to soften and reshape it. This will 'set' once left to cool.

Answer this question

What glue should be used to glue the strip corners together? Where should the glue be applied to ensure the cut corners are attached together providing an air-tight connection? I can't imagine how this is done. Should the corners be glued together whilst the strips are attached to the fridge, or before attaching to the fridge? Thanks

The corner fixings can be glued with a contact type adhesive. If cut correctly there will only be a very small gap that should not result in a significant leak. This could be improved by using silicone sealant on the corners being joined.
