I have a Panasonic MC E3011 upright vacuum cleaner

To fit the small belt remove the lower cover and the roller bar. Then remove the two screws on the idler pulley and lift out. Fit the belt to the motor and slip the idler through before re-fixing. Stretch the large belt over the brush roll, fix in position and refit the cover.
I have been sent spares on a packet which says for models 4000 series. I have tried unsuccessfully to put these belts on my machine; I think they are too big for my model. Am I fitting it incorrectly do you think? I do not have a copy of the original handbook which might tell me how to fit them. Please advise. Thank you.
