You will need to trace the wiring from the ignition switch to the spark generator to replace it.
When washing the hob water can seep into the switch and cause a painful electric shock. Eventually the water makes the component fail. Has there been any modifications to improve the safety of this part. If not I will seek an alternative.

You should not allow water to get near any electrical item that is still connected to the supply unless it is specifically designed to be used in this environment . This switch is not likely to be modified and would be just as likely to have the same chance of shocking you if contacted when wet.
